Private Residence in Ekali
This is a residence located in the northern suburbs of Attica, more specifically in Ekali, Athens. The architecture of this single-family residence is characterized by an axial symmetry; an element which compliments the light classic morphology of the building. In plan view, the residence forms a clear cross with two distinct axes that intersect one another forming views to all directions throughout the interior spaces of the house. The morphology of this structure is shaped by a monolithic volume, which however takes advantage of the slope of the backside of the site to form terraces and other projected exterior spaces. The stone base of the building adds to the classical language of the architecture while simultaneously aesthetically divides the volumes of the residence.
